"Perhaps the sentiments contained in the following pages are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor; a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of custom...A long and violent abuse of power is generally the means of calling the right of it in question..."

Palestine is Still the Issue

When a situation is as serious as that of the current Israeli assault on Gaza, it is only proper to demand an accurate explanation as to why it is occurring. Western media is skewed and Western governments defend Israel's actions perhaps merely issuing a hollow plea for care to be taken for civilian life.

I just finished reading an article discussing the Palestinian casualties that have taken place since Israel began it's attack on Gaza, particularly child casualties: UN: 257 Palestinian children killed in Gaza. Certainly any article dealing with the suffering of children in any circumstance would emotionally affect most people but it is not only the fact that these children are suffering that is disturbing, but knowing that their suffering is only part of a much greater suffering and longtime injustice toward the Palestinian people.

My view of the situation in Israel was dramatically shifted when I first saw this documentary called Palestine is Still the Issue. This documentary provides important facts about the Israeli occupation and presents a reality that is much different than we are given here in America.
